Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, more popularly known as “Big Sean,” is an American rapper from Santa Monica. Sean signed with Kanye West’s company GOOD Music in 2007 and Def Jam Recordings in 2008, his current label.
Since his debut on the scene in 2011 with his debut record, Big Sean has consistently been among the most well-known and successful artists in the world of music.
Big Sean Early Life
Big Sean was born Sean Michael Leonard Anderson on March 25, 1988, in Santa Monica, California. The singer was moved to Detroit, Michigan when he was three months old and was taken care of by his mother, an educator, and his grandmother, who was in the Army during World War II.
If Big Sean refers to the “west side” in his songs, he’s talking about the West Side of Detroit, not California. He received a 3.7 GPA from Cass Technical High School.

He dated Ariana Grande for eight months. Big Sean and the singer Jhene Aiko had a relationship from 2016 to 2019.
Big Sean was arrested on August 4, 2011, for third-degree assault during an incident during a concert at the time in New York. He pleaded guilty in October 2011 to second-degree illegal confinement. He was sentenced to $750 in fines. Sexual assault charges were removed as part of the plea agreement.

Big Sean started rapping in high school and showcased his abilities as part of an annual rap battle hosted by a regional Detroit hip-hop radio station.
The year 2005 was the time that he was informed that Kanye West was scheduled to interview on the radio at the station. He went there to meet with him and attempt to do a freestyle for him.
West was not keen to hear his music, but eventually, he did, and Kanye was said to have been delighted. The rapper gave West his tape demo, and then Big Sean began to build a fan base around 2007, thanks to the internet and a series of self-released mixtapes.

Big Sean’s debut album “Finally Famous” was released in June 2011. The album debuted at No. three on the Billboard charts and produced three smash singles by Big Sean: My Last, Marvin & Chardonnay, and Dance (Ass).
The album was filled with appearances by guests from John Legend to Kanye West to Wiz Khalifa. In 2017, the album was certified platinum.
His album, his second studio effort “Hall of Fame”, was released in August of 2013. It debuted at the top of the charts.
3 and was greeted with favorable critical acclaim. Gold was declared certified in October 2017. The third album of his career, “Dark Sky Paradise”, debuted in February of 2015 and debuted at No. #1 on the Billboard charts, marking his first top. 1 album.
The album’s collaborators included Kayne, Ty Dolla Sign, Ariana Grande, and other artists. Dark Sky Paradise was certified platinum in February 2016.
To mark his 28th day of birthday celebrations, Big Sean released the track “Get My Shit Together” on March 25, 2016. A few days later, he and Jhene Aiko announced their forthcoming album called TWENTY88.
It was made available through Tidal on April 1, 2016. It was then made accessible through Spotify and Apple Music four days later. Big Sean and Jhene Aiko have released a short movie named”Out of Love, composed of various tracks from the album.
In the aftermath of the Flint, Michigan water crisis at the end of April 2016, Big Sean tweeted to Flint’s official Twitter account, asking what he could do to assist. Big Sean later donated 10,000 to Flint’s cause.

He was in the video for the song “Clique” with Kanye West, Pusha T and 2 Chainz. The song “I Don’t Fuck with You” with E-40 was ranked 14th in the US Billboard Hot 100.
Big Sean has headlined four tour dates worldwide and has also performed as the opening performance on J. Cole and Rhianna’s tours. Sean is well-known for his design and has signed an endorsement agreement with the company that makes shoes, Adidas. Big Sean was a star in 2013 when Big Sean launched Aura Gold, his clothing brand.
