Warden Stephen Curry, generally known as Dell Curry, is a retired American professional basketball player. He is most known for his professional basketball career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) (NBA). Dell Curry Early life
Wardell Stephen Curry, better known as Dell Curry, was born on June 25, 1964, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, United States. Grottoes were his home during his childhood. Curry used to play basketball in high school while studying. He was a member of the Fort Defiance basketball squad.
Curry used to go to his coach’s barn to practice basketball shooting. He was the top player in high school and went on to become the school’s all-time leading scorer. He was selected a McDonald’s All-American in 1982. Curry was a great baseball player as well. He has won state titles in basketball and baseball, in fact.
He was a member of the Texas Rangers as a baseball player. In the 1982 Major League Baseball draught, he was selected by the organization. Curry attended Virginia Tech University and was a four-year starter for the Hokies. In 1983 and 1984, he competed in the National Invitation Tournament with the Virginia Tech Hokies, displaying his incredible basketball talents (NIT).
In 1984, the basketball team finished third, and in 1985 and 1986, the squad qualified for the NCAA tournament both years. In both years, though, they were unable to go past the first round. Curry was selected as the Metro Conference Player of the Year despite excelling as a single player.
Curry has a choice of two sports to choose from baseball or basketball. Despite being drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 1985 Major League Baseball draught, he ultimately chose basketball. He concluded his Virginia Tech career as the second-leading scorer in school history. Curry was named to the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 1996.

The Utah Jazz selected Dell in the 1986 NBA draught. He spent one season with the Utah Jazz before being transferred to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1987. He was picked by the Charlotte Hornets in the 1988-89 season and spent 10 seasons with them.
Curry left Charlotte in 1998 after setting all-time records for points, three-point field goals, and three-point field goal percentage. Dell was later signed by the Milwaukee Bucks and spent one season with the organization. After that, he was linked to the Toronto Raptors. He spent his final three NBA seasons with the Toronto Raptors. He averaged 11.7 points, 1.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds throughout the course of his NBA career.
