At the National Championships that same year, Skinner did have some mistakes as she finished in the ninth position on the initial day as a result of the fall. However, she came out well and that helped her qualify for the Olympic Trials where she managed to place 5th. This helped her secure an invitation to the Tokyo Olympics.
