Adams was born on July 20, 1988, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. At the University of South Carolina, he played football. At the end of his freshman year, he had 12 tackles and 2 interceptions.
At the end of his senior year, he had 48 tackles and three interceptions and was named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference First Team.
The career of Phillip Adams
At the 2010 NFL Draft, Adams was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round. He broke his left ankle blocking the opening kickoff in the 16th week of his debut season. The 49ers released him after a year.
After signing with the Patriots, he was released by the team on October 14 to make room for Marcus Harrison.
Also, Adams briefly played for the Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders, New York Jets, and Atlanta Falcons in the NFL.
Death of Phillip Adams
James Lewis, a doctor, and his two grandchildren, Adah and Noah, as well as Barbara Lesslie, were among the five people killed by Adams on April 7, 2021. The unidentified sixth victim is injured and hospitalized after being shot. Adams committed suicide the next day.
